Instructors

Some riding instructors are British Horse Society (BHS) qualified riding instructors and hold up-to-date first aid certificates. Riding instructors receive weekly training from the Chief Riding Instructor and regular training from visiting coaches and examiners. Where possible they are sent overseas to further their training and broaden their experience. All are encouraged to compete in horse shows and competitions.

 

Martina Trommershausen (Horse Manager and Riding Teacher Master) - Senior Riding Instructor

Martina Trommershausen was born in Germany and joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club as Riding Instructor in July 2010. She started her professional horsemanship in 1992. Martina Trommershausen successfully completed her Horse Manager and Riding Teacher Master Exams in 1997 after receiving years of professional equestrian training in different well-known stables. She competed in Germany up to Dressage Level ¡§S¡¨. Martina Trommershausen is very experienced in schooling horses and teaching riders in fluent German and English.

 

Boris Yue Man Ho (BHSAI & Stage IV Riding) ¡V Riding Instructor

Boris Yue joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club in 1997 and was qualified as a Riding Instructor in 2001. He received the equestrian training in the UK with Tim Downes FBHS at Ingestre Stables in 2004 and furthered his riding and teaching skills training (Trainer C) in Germany in 2009. Boris Yue is an active competitor in dressage, jumping and one day event at Beas River Equestrian Centre and Tuen Mun Public Riding School. He is teaching horse and pony lessons for all levels.

 
Kerry Lam Ka Yee (BHSPTT & Stage III Care) ¡V Riding Instructor

Kerry Lam was promoted Trainee Riding Instructor in May 2008 and Riding Instructor in March 2009 after going through a series of on-job training. She completed the BHS Stage III Exam in 2010. Kerry Lam is a popular instructor for the pony lessons and is well received by the children.

 

Penny Law Chi Hang (BHSPTT & Stage II Complete) ¡V Riding Instructor

Penny Law joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club in 2008 and was elected to be a member of the Trainee Riding Instructor Programme in 2010. He passed the BHS Stage II Complete and BHSPTT exams in December 2010. Penny Law is currently responsible for teaching the junior level classes and fun riding activities.
